 Colour Code  Max Working Pressure
 GREEN  1000 bar
 BLUE  1500 bar
 RED  2000 bar plus

The colour coding takes the following forms :-

Pumps
The tubular steel carrying frames are painted according to the code.

Hoses
The hoses are plastic coated and the quick connectors are fitted with plastic dust covers. Both are coloured according to the code.

Tools
The tool labels and the quick connector, plastic dust covers, are coloured according to the code.

Maximum Stroke Indicators

Most  BOLTIGHT standard tools have a long 15 mm stroke.  Each tool has a highly visible red piston stroke indicator which appears when the tool has reached the design maximum stroke.

Exceeding the piston stroke will cause oil to escape safely into the centre of the tensioning tool.
